Interfaith meeting at the Department of Islamic Sciences

The first interfaith meeting  was organised between the Department of Islamic Sciences  at Hena e Plote Beder Univeristy and Interdioqezian Seminary in Shkodra.The guests from the Interdioqezian Seminary  "Mother of Good Counsel", were composed by the Rector of the Seminary Don Leonardo Falco, Director of the Institute of  Philosophical-Theological and dogmatic theology lecturer Father Mario Imperatori , Rector of the Seminary "Redemptoris Mater" in Lezha Don Lorenzo Rossetti, pedagogue of dogmatic theology and ecumenical dialogue Don Robert Kola, and students of Catholic theology.

They were hosted by the teaching staff of the Department of Islamic Sciences, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities Prof. Dr. Ayhan Tekinesh, Director of Culture and Interreligious Dialogue  in Albanian Muslim Community, Dr. Genti Kruja, Head of the Department of Islamic Sciences Dr. Salman Kuzu, Director of the Center for Islamic Studies Dr. Atakan Derelioglu, lecturer Mr. Elton Karaj and many students of Islamic Sciences at Hena e Plote Beder  University.

The first of its kind, this meeting consisted of a matchmaking session between two units where were also discussed current achievements, areas of interaction with other entities within and outside the country, study programs and aspirations for the future.

During this visit, the teaching staff of the Catholic delegation was  also welcomed  from the Rector of Hena e Plote Beder University, Dr. Ferdinand Gjana.

Both parties have considered how fruitful this meeting was, citing it as the first step of the transition from the theoretical to the practical dialogue, precisely through meeting and recognition among the faculty and students of Islamic Sciences and the Catholic Theological  intsitutions in our country, becoming a concrete example of harmony and coexistence in Albania.
