International Conference "Islam and Global Peace" develops its works

Hena e Plote Beder University professors refered to the international conference "Islam and Global Peace", which took place today at the Tirana International Hotel.

This conference organized by the Albanian Muslim Community in cooperation with Hena e Plote Beder University , Embassy of the United States and the European Commission Delegation in Tirana brought together a number of scholars and academics from countries such as: USA, Italy, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Kosovo, Macedonia, Serbia, Croatia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina ect.

Among the guests of honor who were welcomed at the conference were: Chairman of the Muslim Community, Mr. Skender Brucaj, President of the Republic  of Albania, Mr. Bujar Nishani, the American Ambassador, Mr. Donald Lu, Ambassador of the EU Delegation, Mrs. Romana Vlahutin and Bektashi  Community leader, Baba Edmond Brahimaj.

Also worth mentioning Prof. Dr. John Esposito, professor of Religion and International Relations of Islamic Studies at Georgetown  University, and one of the most renowned researchers in the field of religion as the main speaker  of this event.

In the  proceedings of this conference also referred the professors Hena e Plote Beder University, dean of the Faculty of Philology and Education Sciences Dr. Ahmet Ecirli and Director of the Center of Islamic Studies Dr. Atakan Dereligolu.  Rector of the University Dr. Ferdinand  Gjana, moderated one of the main sessions of the conference.

In their references above educators, was  emphasized the role of Islam in maintaining and building peace among civilizations, principles and values ​​that promotes true Islam, inspiring examples which has bring  the religion of Islam to the whole society, tolerance and religious coexistence that characterizes our country, the universal values ​​of Islam and the contribution that it should provide for the strengthening and consolidation of peace, ect.
