International Conference with the Topic “Common Aspects of Turkish and Albanian Culture”

Department of Turkish Language and Literature at “Hëna e Plotë”(Bedër) University in cooperation with Prizren University, University of Tirana, Cultural Center “Yunus Emre”, organized the International Conference on Language and Literature with the topic "Common Aspects of Turkish and Albanian culture". At the conference researchers and academics from Albania, Turkey, Kosovo, Macedonia and Azerbaijan have referred on topics that focus on common aspects of the two cultures. The opening ceremony was attended by academics, historians, scholars of language and culture, representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Tirana and other guests.

President of the Conference, at the same time Head of Turkish Language and Literature Department, Dr. Adem Ballaban, in his speech thanked the participants for their participation and expressed the belief that the organization of this conference, in Albania, is an opportunity for scholars of culture, language and history, to share ideas and experiences in the discipline, traditions and different perspectives. The conference aims to highlight different aspects of the two cultures, seeing the "diversity" as an asset and opportunity for cooperation and not as an element separator ", tha Dr. Balaban.

Meanwhile, in his speech before the participants, Rector of “Hëna e Plotë”(Bedër) University, Dr. Ferdinand Gjana stressed that “Participation of researchers in the social disciplines, variety of conference papers and academic dimension will be a contribution in scientific and information terms, and will highlight the values over time that created a close relationship to the people, and that this relationship was reflected in the daily life, customs, traditions, lifestyles, creating common grounds”.

The opening ceremony also welcomed by the Rector of Prizren University, Prof. Dr. Mazllum Baraliu, Rector of Epoka University, Prof. Dr. Hlalil Murat Ozler and First Secretary of the Embassy of Turkey Mr. Mustafa Uludag. Rector of Prizren University, focused on the need for continued cooperation between universities in Albania and in Kosovo stressing that this cooperation will open new opportunities in terms of research projects.
