Open Lecture: "The Role of the CEC to ensure the Transparency of Elections"
Students of the Department of Law at the “Hëna e Plotë” (Bedër) University, within the activities of the "Bader Law Academy" organized today an open lecture on "The role of CEC in ensuring the transparency of the elections" with the participation of the President of the Central Election Commission (CEC 's) Mrs. Lefterije Leshi (Luz) and other members of the Commission.
President of the CEC, after describing the powers and duties of the Central Election Commission, focused on the function and importance of this institution, which ensures equality on the playing field is for all parties wishing to compete on the elections and also protects votes with an eagle eye, in order to ensure that their voices are heard.
Mrs. Lleshi said that the main tasks CEC aims in all forms, is not only obtaining the necessary information and complete election, but above all to clarify voters what it means to truly exercise their right and to vote in consolidated and democratic society.
During the meeting Mr. Lleshi emphasized the voting rights of all voters, especially young voters. She went further than by saying anyone has the right to participate actively or passively in governance, by choosing or by being elected, the right to elect and to exert its verdict. This is message that the institution must have not only in the spotlight, but above all to transmit it to every voter.
