Probation Service introduced to the students of Law Department

Within the cycle "Brownbag Seminars", Mr. Ilir Qafa , General Director of Probation was the guest speaker of the student club "Bader Law Academy" in an open lecture where he shared with the students  the views on the "Role and Functioning of Probation".

"This institution has started to produce positive effects, which inevitably are  associated with the rehabilitation of people  in conflict with the law, to reduce recidivism and reduce economic costs associated with serving the sentence at educational institutions and suffering criminal penalties" – said Qafa after giving a brief summary of  the activities of the institution he leads.

Among other things, Mr. Qafa talked about the significance and necessity of continuing cooperation with the courts to prepare evaluation reports about alternative sentencing requests by inmates who are sentenced to imprisonment or in conviction, with prosecution as well as nonprofit organizations. Qafa stressed that successful implementation of alternative sentences of imprisonment necessarily requires considerable commitment and maximum  responsibility of all stakeholders in the justice system and beyond.

Conversation with students  continued further in the form of questions and  answers, where Mr. Ilir Qafa clearly analyzed every area in which students showed interest such as: the legal provisions of the Penal Code of the Republic of Albania, opportunities  for Probation Service, etc.
