Starts the Exhibition “Albanian Transition on the Headlines”
In the World Press Freedom Day, on 3rd of May, the Department of Communication Sciences started the exhibition "The Albanian transition in the headlines". After a hard work the students could gather and select the first pages of Albanian newspapers which show the most important events of Albanian transition from 1991 until nowadays.
The exhibition was visited by many invited people, involve the representatives of local press. Referring to the head of department Mr. Ramadan Çipuri, the exhibition was focused in the most important headlines, which are carefully selected by the students of this department. "At the first two years our department was mostly focus on the research of students. For many weeks a group of students have selected and read many newspapers from Central Archive of the State, National Library, where are selected headlines related with the most important events, said Mr. Çipuri in the opening speech of the exhibition.
The exhibition shows events from the fall of Communist regime, first pluralist election in Albania to Albania’s NATO membership. During two decades our people has had joyful moments, as well as difficult moments like the events of 1997; all of them are showed in this exhibition.
One of the participants of this exhibition was the Ambassador of the Republic of France in Albania, Mrs. Christina Moro, as well as many representative of various media. Mrs. Moro during her speech said "while the exhibition shows the reality of two decades after 1991, now we are facing a new transition which is related with the arrival of new information technologies. Today we are trying to understand how this technology affects the press and to ensure that the press will be free to play its role in democratic systems".
The exhibition will continue until 3rd of June.
