The first interfaith symposium on topic: "Freedom of religion and interfaith dialogue in Albania "
Department of Islamic Sciences at the Bedër University, in the context of 25th anniversary of religious freedom in our country, organized in cooperation with the “Ndërdioqezian seminar” in Shkodra and the Theological Academy in Durres, the first interfaith symposium on topic: "Freedom of religion and interfaith dialogue in Albania ".
November of 1990, a month in which developed first religious rites, after years of detention by the communist regime and the harmony of coexistence interfaith in these 25 years of religious freedom, were fundamental issues which took place at At Mario Imperatori references, “Ndërdioqezian Seminar” Shkodra, Mr. Vlash Plepi, Orthodox Theological Academy, St. Vlash and Dr. Genti Kruja, Depart. The Islamic Studies, Bedër University & MCA, who also made up the panel of this roundtable.
As moderator of this symposium, Rector of Bedër University, Prof. Dr. Ferdinand Gjana, after thanking the participants for their presence, said that this institution has developed dozens of conferences, seminars, workshops, etc, waited thousands of people maybe, but today's activity has a special meaning and importance.
Concret steps in the Muslim-Catholic interreligious dialogue
In the framework of cooperation for the Muslim-Catholic interreligious dialogue, after organizing several seminars and joint meetings between the institutions of religious communities and academic, on Wednesday, on 25 November 2015 was held a visit of the academic staff of the Department of Islamic Studies in Bedër University and third year students of the department at the Catholic Theological High School ( Ndërdioqezian seminar) in Shkodra.
On top of this delegation was the Rector of the Bedër University Prof. Dr. Ferdinand Gjana, who was accompanied by the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities Prof. Dr. Ajhan Tekinesh, Head of the Department of Islamic Studies Dr. Atakan Derelioğlu, Director of Culture and Interreligious Dialogue MCA Dr. Genti Kruja, Director of Public Relations at Bedër University Mr. Agron Hoxha, lectures Mr. Erlis Çela, Mr. Adil Kutlu, Veton Tulla and Dr. Xhemal Alsafarti.
The academic staff of Bedër University was welcomed in the conference room of the institution, by the head of the “Ndërdioqezian seminar” Dom Leonardo Falco, Director of the “Ndërdioqezian seminar” Father Mario Imperatori, the academic staff of the school and it’s students.
During the first part of the meeting the Director of the school, Father Mario Imperatori held an opening speech, welcoming the participants, who came for the first time in this institution, considering very important this cooperation in the academic field, especially for students of theology.
The contribution of artists and intellectuals in promoting tolerance and coexistence
Artists, intellectuals and numerous journalists were part of a round table held by the Bedër Higher Education Institution, within the global universites initiative against violent extremism, this initiative initiated by the White House and US State Department.
"The contribution of artists and intellectuals in promoting tolerance and coexistence" developed as part of the before mentioned project brought together a range of public figures, to mention here: Ms. Margarita Xhepa, Mr. Mirush Kabashi, Mrs Myfarete Laze, Mr. Sokol Angjeli, Mr. Mërkur Bozgo, Mr. Agim Baçi, Mr. Armand Bora, Mr. Pëllumb Vorpsi, Mr. Ilir Hoxholli and numerous representatives of the media and civil society.
The purpose of the event was the union of individuals in a coalition of peace and understanding, as the moderator of the panel Mr. Aleksander Cipa said in his address. Head of the Union of Journalists called the unification of public figures as a noble initiative that makes Beder part of the chain of peace.
The 4-th International Conference on Language and Literature takes place
Language and Literature Department in Beder Higher Education Institution, organized for the 4-th consecutive year the international conference on language and literature on the topic: “In Memory of Sami Frashëri”.
The opening ceremony of the conference was developed in the school premisses, where participated over then 80 referenc’es from different country’s of the world, dozens of academics, and also a considered number of students and guests.
The conference was greeted from the cooperating institiutions representatives, as: Dr. Hasan Gökçe, General Director of “Yağmur” magazine in Turkey, Prof. Dr. Vilson Kurti, Aleksandër Xhuvani University in Elbasan, Prof. Dr. Ardian Marashi, Director of Albanological Studies in Tirana.
The Scientific Journal of the Education Sciences, BJES (Beder Journal of Educational Sciences) which is realized from the Faculty of Philology and Education, recently is classified in the “Index Copernicus Valus” indexing with 69.14 points.
The main objective of this journal is to serve to the interests and the contemporary academician works related to the theories and different practices in the education field.
Estimated for the contribution in the quality and inovation of the published articles, this journal is found online with ISSN 2310-5402 and in the printed form ISSN 2306-0557.
Beder is recognized as a full rights member in International Association of Universities IAU.
Administrative Board of the organization had examined the application of Beder University based on the default criteria, has decided that this institution fulfills all the standards to become a member of the association.
IAU is a module that enables its members to participate in a great variety of organizations worldwide being focused on the main topics of higher education and assembling experts and leaders from every region as well.
Based on this agreement Beder University has the opportunity to benefit from all the services that this association provides.

Chamber of Commerce and Industry Tirana honored Beder University the Award “Institution of Knowledge” as “A university that inspires the values of coexistence and high education of citizens”.
During the gala night of the “CCI Awards” that took place in the premises of Hotel Tirana, The Chamber of Commerce and Industry announced the awards to the most prominent companies and institutions for 2015 being grouped in different categories.
The Parliament Speaker Mr. Ilir Meta and Deputy Prime Minister Mr. Niko Peleshi were present in the activity alongside the different representatives of the world of business, media and civil society.
The Award “Institution of Knowledge” was handed to the Rector of the Beder University, Prof. Dr. Ferdinand Gjana.
Beder condemns the act of terror in Paris, where were killed dozens of innocent civilians. This kind of acts cannot be hidden under no religion shelter, they are terrorist behaviours which aims to destabilize not only the west but the whole world. No action that affects life, dignity, or the safety of everybody cannot justifie this inhuman actions.
The staff and the students of Beder solidarize and share the pain with the citizens of Paris and all the families of victims in overcoming these difficult moments.
