Heads of the institution meeting with Students Council

Beder Student's Council held a meeting with the top executives of the institution who expressed appreciation for the student's commitment to student voice representation and the importance they have for achieving fruitful ongoing collaboration between students and the governing bodies of the institution. This is to increase the quality and to provide representation of thoughts, suggestions and student ideas. During the meeting, the representatives of the students had the opportunity to discuss various requests and suggestions and to present project ideas for the future focusing on student voice and energy.

Bedër University College signed a cooperation agreement with the Municipality of Struga

Bedër University College signed a cooperation agreement with the Municipality of Struga.   In the  Municipality of Struga, a delegation of KU Bedër led by Prof. Dr. Ferdinand Gjana held a meeting with representatives of the municipal administration as well as the Director of NP "Proaqua".   The meeting aimed at linking a cooperation agreement between the two institutions in the field of education, exchange of student experiences, realization of practical work and other cross-border cooperation within IPA funds.   Prof. Dr. Ferdinand Gjana presented all the programs offered by Bedër University College, various types of scholarships, as well as various co-operation with several municipalities and communes from Albania, Kosovo and North Macedonia.

Our exellent student is selected to become part of the Foreign Investment Agency

Hysni Kafazi, a graduated student in English language and literature, is one of the 12 students with GPA 10,0  who were selected to become a part of the Foreign Investment Agency, who will contribute as agency representatives to the prime minister and in relevant ministries, in the communication and interaction of the government, with the subjects interested to investment in Albania.

Rector congratulates new mayor of KMSH

The heads of Bedër University College had a visit to the headquarters of the Muslim Community of Albania, where the delegation headed by the Rector, Prof. Dr. Gjana waswelcomed  by the Mayor, H. Bujar Spahiu. They congratulate him on the occasion of his election at the head of the KMSH.   During the meeting, a series of topics related to the current performance of  Bedr, as well as future cooperation in the field of higher education, were touched upon. Mayor Spahiu  thanked them for the visit and congratulated them on the further progress of the university.

Award ceremony for the Youth English Essay Competition

Bedër University College held, for the sixth consecutive year, the award ceremony for the Youth English Essay Competition among high schools. 147 students from 32 public and private high schools participated in the competition with the topic "How has globalization affected education and education opportunities around the world". The program set off with the welcoming speech of the head of the Department of English Language and Literature, Dr. Lokman Coşkun, who thanked all attendees and participants in the competition stressing the importance of writing in organizing thoughts, feelings, and ideas, as well as improving communication and English skills. Then the Vice-Rector for International Relations and Lecturer at the Department of English Language and Literature, Dr. William K. Martin gave a presentation on the topic "The Elements of Academic Scripture" where he gave special importance to the writing psychology, the pre-writing process, the essay and paragraph structure, and most importantly; plagiarism and the worst fear for a student; an empty sheet. The ceremony ended with the awards; the best three essays from public schools; Emiliano Simaku, Eljo Leka, and Mikela Sula, from the Ismail Qemali High School; the best three from private schools; Breana Shehetila from Turgut Özal College, Antonio Bitri from the Harry Fultz Institute, and Aurora Mana from Mehmet Akif College, and the best essay Era Kasmi from Turgut Özal College. The winners received a 100% scholarship from Bedër University College while all participants were awarded a certificate of participation. Afterwards, students and teachers had the opportunity to give their opinion about the organization and the winners during the interviews.

Students meeting with graduates in Counseling Psychology and Pedagogy

The Department of Education Sciences, the Psychology Counseling and Pedagogy program in cooperation with the Office of the Graduates, organized an activity in the form of a conversation between ex-graduates of the program "Counseling and Pedagogy Psychology" and current students who study in the same program in Bedër . The guests at this meeting were: Fabiola Rukaj, Psychologist at the 9-year school "Turgut Ozal" Tirana, Ana Troka, Private Counseling Psychologist, and Heseva Serjani, Master of Science at Sheffield University in Thessaloniki, Greece. The guests discussed their experience as foreign students abroad, but also about their experience as students at other universities in the country and the experience as new professionals in their field. The conversation aroused much interest in the students, who were constantly questioning their experience as new psychologists and the challenges of the profession. The activity ended with the desire and interest of students to contact ex-graduates further, for more information about their professional life.  

KMSH-Bedër, promote the book "Basic Arguments of Hanafi Fiqh"

The Department of Islamic Sciences, in cooperation with the Department of Culture in the Muslim Community of Albania, promoted the book "The Basic Arguments of the Hanafi Fiqh", edition of the PCC. The activity was opened by greetings from Dr. Genti Kruja, Head of the Department of Islamic Sciences, and Director of Culture and Education at KMSH, Dorian Demetja. In this event the special guest was Mr. Redin Quku, the Mufti of Durrës. Mr. Quku analyzed the work in detail by pointing out the issues that today are considered problematic and not easily understandable to the wider extent. He also unveiled the valuable work the author has done with the compilation of this work, where I did not thank the translator of this work who was present during the promotion. During this meeting, a fruitful conversation took place, where both lecturers and students expressed their experiences, impressions and questions to the panelists about the work being promoted as well as about the themes dealt with.

AWEN - Awareness and information activity in Bedër

The Department of Education Sciences in cooperation with the Women's Empowerment Network in Albania (AWEN) organized the Thematic Forum: "Violence in Intimate Relationships in Teens in Albania" where the guests were AWEN's representatives. This forum was organized in the wake of the awareness and information activities that take place within the 8th of March - International Women's Day. The theme of this topic was the publication of the first national study on the same topic, carried out by AWEN with the support of the Swedish International Development Agency and Sida. During the meeting, Doc. Ana Uka, one of the scholars of this project, explained to the students the main findings of the study. This study was attended by 1036 young people aged 16-19 in public high schools in Albania who had self-reported data on their intimate lives. The discussion took place on the perception of young Albanians about a topic considered taboo in Albania. At the end of the meeting, students had the opportunity to express their thoughts on the topic and to share experiences from their personal life.
